Working with me
I’m Sarah, a trained and experienced hypnotherapist and life coach, working with clients both in-person (in Staffordshire) and online. It was the positive impact of hypnotherapy on my own life that led me to train as a hypnotherapist.
Having experienced for myself how draining and time-consuming living with anxiety can be, I love helping people to feel the sense of freedom and empowerment that I now have. After all, life’s too short to miss out on fun and enjoyment!

What happens before a hypnotherapy session?
My priority is always to make sure that you feel at ease and comfortable from the very beginning, so that you can get the best out of every session.
I always start with a call. It’s a chance to tell me what has brought you to seek help, to ask any questions and to address any anxieties that you may have about the process. The call will also help us to decide if hypnotherapy is the best option for your individual needs.

As a hypnotherapist, my role in the sessions is to help you to pro-actively move forwards, so the focus is on the present and your goals, rather than on the past.
What will a hypnotherapy session look like?
We’ll start with a chat, to put you at ease and for me to find out how you are feeling now and how you want to feel. We’ll discuss any unhelpful habits that you’re currently experiencing and brainstorm ways to help you to change those habits. I’ll talk about how the mind works, dispel any of your concerns about hypnosis and explain the techniques that I’m going to use.

Next, I’ll ask you to sit back comfortably and listen, as I guide you with my voice to a place that is calm and welcoming, followed by some visualisations and questions that just require yes or no answers.
If you’re online, I just need to be able to see your head and shoulders and hear your voice, your phone needs to be on silent and you’ll need to make sure that you won’t be disturbed by pets or other interruptions during the session.
In some sessions, I may converse with you, while you are under hypnosis. I’ll be taking notes and watching and listening to your reactions, to help me to judge the best techniques and words to use to help you.
You can relax and enjoy the session.

At the end, I’ll suggest some tips to incorporate into your day, to help you to think more positively. We’ll also book in your next appointment, for 1-2 weeks later. I’ll make sure that you have the time to feel fully alert and comfortable before you leave.
I work in a progressive way, sending you audios to listen to between sessions. These are sent to you via Whatsapp, so you can download and access them any time you like.
